In accordance with the new code, now the applicant for the issuance of visa must personally come to the consulate and submit the approved documents:

- information confirming that the applicant intends to leave the Schengen area before the visa expires.
If necessary consular officers have the right to request additional documents. And after enactment in late 2010, a common visa information system to the citizens will be required to collect fingerprints. In Russia This procedure will apply from 2011.
In accordance with the changes, the period of consideration of applications for Schengen should not exceed 15 days, and for Russians and more citizens of several countries that have agreements with the EU - 10 days. In the case of visa refusal the country will be obliged to explain why such a decision, but because of того, что ряду членов ЕС для этого придется внести изменения в национальное законодательство, данное положение будет применяться с пятого апреля 2011 года.
The new code stipulates that it is now Schengen visa for up to three months will cost 60 euros for people under the age of 12 years, for children from 6 to 12 years old - 35 euros.
